Does a full hospital mean higher infection risk?

While it might seem obvious that a fuller hospital would mean higher risk of hospital-acquired infections among its patients, a new study finds the opposite to be true. It uses a new approach to calculate the actual occupancy level at the time an infection occurs, and could be used for more uniform tracking of this important factor in patient safety, and evaluating what factors protect patients from infections.
